Don Nazario – Normandeau Associates
Don Nazario is an environmental scientist working with Normandeau Associates as a Senior Scientist working out of the Stowe, Pennsylvania office. He is primarily focused on sediment sampling capabilities and maintains a US Coast Guard OUPV Captain's License in addition to his 40 Hr. OSHA for work on the water. Don is often performing sediment vibracoring on dredging and environmental remediation projects but also offers support to freshwater mussel surveys and the many fish collection projects that Normandeau Associates performs.
It was in 2007 that Don Nazario joined the Board of Directors of HDC SETAC. His experience in toxicity testing, environmental chemistry and sediment sampling has supported his involvement with the Hudson-Delaware Chapter of SETAC. Don has helped plan many aspects of the HDC meetings and at times has offered presentations in underwater geophysical survey techniques and sediment sampling procedures. He has managed communications and the HDC website for much of his time on the Board. He also has performed treasurer duties and can normally be found at the registration desk at most HDC SETAC meetings.
Don holds and maintains several training certificates including 40 Hr. and 8 Hr. OSHA, First Aid/CPR, Hazmat Shipping and a US Coast Guard Captains License (OUPV – Inland). He earned his days on the water performing sediment vibracoring, water sampling or supporting underwater geophysical surveys. He has also supported field activities for underground utility markouts, seismic surveys, oversight of geothermal drilling and performed hydrographic surveys on the water.
Don lives in Lancaster, PA with his wife, a daughter and son (who are both away at college) and two cats.
